A link did not import
What each message on Add recipe means, and what to do when a recipe link will not import.
When a recipe link cannot be read, Thyme Kept saves nothing and says why. Find your message below.
“That site blocked direct import” or “a security check”
The site did not let Thyme Kept read the page. Try the recipe’s original source if you were on a copy of it, or paste the recipe text from the page you can see.
“That recipe appears to require sign-in or a subscription”
The recipe is behind a login or a paywall. Open it yourself, then paste the visible recipe text.
“That recipe page was not found”
Check the link, or try the original source of the recipe.
“That recipe page took too long to respond” or “Could not reach that recipe page”
The site was slow or unreachable. Try again later, check the address, or paste the recipe text.
“Couldn’t find a complete recipe on that page”
The link does not point straight to one recipe with ingredients and steps. Open the single recipe page and use that link.
“That page appears to contain more than one recipe”
Open the single recipe you want and import its link. When a page holds several complete recipes, Thyme Kept lists them instead, and you pick one with Save.
“That page didn’t expose recipe text to direct import”
Some pages only show their recipe after loading in a browser. Paste the visible recipe text instead.
“Too many imports in a short time”
Wait a moment, then try again.
“That source is limiting imports right now”
The site is limiting requests. Wait a few minutes and try again.
“Import failed before Thyme Kept could build a recipe”
Try again, or paste the recipe text.
A link from a social app that holds no written recipe has its own page: A post has no written recipe.
