Who can see what you share
How recipe links, event pages and shared cookbooks work, and who can open each one.
Your collection is private unless you deliberately publish or share something.
A recipe link
In a recipe’s share menu, Create direct link makes a read-only page for that recipe. Anyone with the link can view it. It shows only what the preview shows: your notes, ratings and import details stay private.
The page shows the published copy. If you change the recipe later, choose Update published recipe to update it. Unpublish takes the page down.
An event
When you publish an event, Who can open this event? has two choices:
- Public. Anyone with the event link can open it.
- Invite-only. Only the people you add can open it or RSVP.
Guests do not need an account. They give a name (and an email, on a public link), and can add a dietary or allergy note that only the host sees. Guests can change or remove their RSVP. If you turn on Hide guest list publicly, guests cannot see who else replied. Signed-in guests are shown by their name, never their email.
A shared cookbook
Share for review on a cookbook makes a read-only link. Anyone with it can page through the book, but not edit it or see your other recipes. It shows the last saved version. Turn off link stops it, and a new link starts fresh.
