Using Thyme Kept without a connection
What you can still read offline, and what waits until you reconnect.
Thyme Kept keeps a copy of what you have read on this device, so you can read it again without a connection. You see a strip that says Reading offline with the time it was saved.
What you can read
- Your library. The first page of your recipes, as it was when you last saw it. Searching and filtering need a connection: the strip says “Reconnect to search or filter.”
- Recipes you have opened before. The most recent ones are kept. Editing and sharing are turned off. A recipe you have not opened before says “Reconnect to load this saved recipe.”
- Your plan. From a week back to three weeks ahead.
- Your shopping list.
What you can do offline
- Tick off shopping. Ticks stay on your device and show Not sent yet. Nothing is sent by itself when you reconnect: choose Send now. If an item was changed while you were offline, Thyme Kept shows it for you to review rather than overwriting it. Finish trip waits until your ticks are sent.
- Finish a cook. Cook Mode says “Saved on this device” and the cook can be retried when you reconnect.
What needs a connection
Changing your plan, editing recipes, exporting, and Settings and household changes need a connection.
Copies are kept for the account you are signed in to. Signing out, or signing in to a different account, clears them.
